‘IBDAA’ or the ‘International Biodiversity Day at AUB’ is an annual United Nations funded, environmental poster competition initiated by the American University of Beirut’s Nature Conservation Center. In 2018, I had the pleasure of branding and fully organising IBDAA. And for the first year ever, my job was to take the competition into nationwide level, with 6 participating universities across Lebanon, and 800 competing students. Apart from the design of all communication material of the event, my tasks included, approaching universities across Lebanon, and presenting them with the idea so that they include the project in their curriculum, approaching funders, managing online and offline communication campaigns with the communication team, organising event logistics, getting sponsors, recruiting and managing volunteers, managing event entertainment, organising staff meetings, and hosting on the day of the event. It was a challenging but highly fulfilling project.
