WISE or the ‘Wine Innovation For Sustainable Economies’ is a project that is part of my work with the Nature Conservation Center at the American University of Beirut (NCC). WISE is a research project funded by the United Nations, aimed at helping Lebanese wineries learn about circular economy in order to achieve both, a more sustainable and environmentally responsible business. The branding and visual identity used in this project helps summarise the project goals in a more approachable and less intimidating manner, as scientific material can be overwhelming. The use of illustrations and a handwritten font, helps create a relaxed explanatory atmosphere that simplifies complex information and presents it in a more easygoing manner. A bald organic-shaped typeface is used in both the logo and the communication material to portray the waste related nature of the core subject matter of the project which is compost.
